Ask Ausiello Scoop & TVLine:
- The show is casting a potentially recurring character of STRANDO, a high school football player who is “as wide as he is tall” to debut in gridiron Super Bowl episode. Interested characters must have good comedic timing. ((SOURCE))
- Mike O’Malley revealed that Burt will be meeting Blaine in an upcoming episode, and that it’s a great story. ((SOURCE))
- Brad Falchuk reveals that there are a couple of unexpected kisses in the Super Bowl episode along with flaming whips and BMX that bothers Sue. ((SOURCE))
- Burt Hummel will be in the Super Bowl episode according to Mike O’Malley. ((SOURCE))
- Chris Colfer’s character is in the Super Bowl episode for about a minute with Blaine. ((SOURCE))

Watch With Kristin Scoops & E!Online:
- On the Super Bowl Episode: predictably, there will be a big focus on the football team in this ep, directed by Brad Falchuk himself. Look for at least two new jock characters: a tall good-looking football player named Strando, who might become a recurring character, and another athlete named Scott Cooper, who will be following in Puck and Karofsky’s footsteps as the show’s resident numbskull jock. Producers are also looking for BMX bike tricksters, fire-breathers and jugglers to shoot next week—sounds like they’re planning a hell of a McKinley High halftime show. ((SOURCE))
- Katie Couric will be on Glee. She will be in the half-time musical number with lots of spangles and a  top hat. ((SOURCE))
- Amber Riley reveals that the Super Bowl is really big, the writers “pulled out all the stops” and that the Thriller number will contain zombie make up. ((SOURCE))
- When asked about the Super Bowl episode, Darren Criss says, “The first 10 minutes are just crazy extravaganza of bells and whistles and explosions and stuff so it’s almost going to be a halftime show, except a whole episode. A lot of cool numbers, and it’s going to be a lot of fun.” ((SOURCE))
- Kurt’s situation with Kurofsky isn’t over yet. Max Adler told Kristin that though Karofsky may not know that there is anything between Kurt & Blaine, he knows that Kurt is gone and that will be brought up in the Super Bowl episode. ((SOURCE))
- Sue gets meaner in the Super Bowl episode. It’s Glee on steroids. Sue is bored with her routine & wants to top herself. She suffers a devastating lost in terms of Cheerios this episode, and becomes dangerously depressed. ((SOURCE))

Entertainment Weekly:
- “Thriller” will be performed during the Super Bowl episode. ((SOURCE))
- The Super Bowl episode will not be a tribute episode. It will instead be a regular episode that will focus on the football and cheerleading championships at McKinley high school. Basically, it’ll be a normal episode except bigger and better. ((SOURCE))
- EW was on the set during the Super Bowl episode big “Thriller” and “Heads Will Roll” mash-up performance, and this is what they had to reveal: the performance occurs during the McKinley’s championship football game’s half time show, the New Directions group is covered in zombie make up, and the episode is not trying to recreate Michael Jackson’s epic “Thriller” video. They’re “making it their own.” The episode is also the highest budget yet – in the 3-5 million dollar range. ((SOURCE))

- Sue Sylvesters throws a hissy fit in the Super Bowl episode. She tries to destroy the locker room and principal’s office. She also tries to shoot one of the Cheerios from a cannon. ((SOURCE))
- Super Bowl episode will be extended by 6 minutes. ((SOURCE))
- Jane Lynch spoke of the Super Bowl episode in an interview ((HERE)) with @StarryMag. The following is what she had to say about it:
> “She does.  We’re kind of doing an episode of Glee that is on steroids and writ large.  Sue Sylvester is a little bored with her routine, even though she has kids riding around on BMX bikes and jumping through fire.  And this one routine with Katy Perry’s California Girls she wants to top herself, so she finds out there’s a human cannon in town, she buys it and wants to shoot Britney out of it.  …doesn’t allow it…  And she has a hissy fit.  She has two hissy fits where she just rips two rooms apart.  So it was definitely Sue Sylvester on the war path.” {on whether Sue Sylvester is meaner in this episode}
> “Yes, and this is a big episode. It’s kind of like the Madonna episode.  It’s like the episode we shot for four months, like it drags on that long.  I think we started actually after the holidays, but we needed to pick up a couple of reaction shots, just really quick reaction shots during the Thriller song and they were really quick and fast, and then everybody had to get back into everything.  You know, the zombie makeup, etc.  So it was a big deal for two shots.” {on whether the episode was a big production}

The Music:
- “Bills, Bills, Bills” ~ Blaine & Kurt
- “California Gurls” – Cheerios
- “Need You Now” – Puck & Rachel
- “Thriller” & “Heads Will Roll” mash-up – glee club
- “She’s Not There” – Finn
